18/10/2008 - Louis gutted to miss Stags reunion
Jefferson Louis is massively disappointed he will be unable to make a Field Mill return with Wrexham this afternoon.
The tall striker was drafted in by Mansfield on a short-term contract in the closing months of last season and scored four goals in 14 starts and four substitute appearances.
That included the winner from the penalty spot as the Stags beat the Red Dragons 2-1 in early April to breathe fresh life into their survival bid.
But both sides were ultimately destined for the drop and when Louis was released he was snapped up by the Racecourse Ground club.
Louis, 29, has bagged eight goals in 13 starts since his move.
But he will not get the chance to haunt his old club because of an injury sustained this week.
He said: "I had a game on Tuesday and I tweaked my hamstring. It's a shame because I have got off to a great start.
"I was looking forward to playing in the game, but these things happen.
"There aren't that many players still there but there is JD (Jonathan D'Laryea) and Nay-Nay (Nathan Arnold)."
Louis has now set his sights on playing in the return game at the Racecourse Ground in April.
Wrexham have completed the signing of defender Ashley Westwood this week.
He has been without a club since leaving Stevenage Borough in the summer.
